Miners work with simple tools such as hoes and shovels to remove the black volcanic sand typical of the area. Steep sand cliffs surround the area, creating a rugged but potent natural landscape. Mining trucks arrived, filled to the brim with black sand, ready to be transported to various locations. The truck drivers were seen preparing and working hard, driving their vehicles through the winding and steep paths leading out of the mine.
