Many years ago a man working at a coffee shop in Marina del Rey gave me advice. He said, ā You will have a good life as long as you are singingā. I had just finished singing for an apartment community in the Marina, and his coffee shop was in the center of the Marinerās Village complex. I was 23 when he said this to me. But, I knew then when he spoke those words they carried a lot of weight.
This comment rings so true for me. Whenever I sing, that is when Iām at my best. Singing is my passion and joy. Unfortunately, sometimes life gets in the way, Iāve struggled with depression, anxiety, and C-PTSD since my 20ās, itās like diabetes itās a chronic condition that I have to manage. I go through seasons where Iām not singing, sometimes I forget that I can sing or play an instrument, itās a distant untouchable memory. Iām so thankful Iām singing again. Iām not on here to get famous, Iām here to share my heart, share my songs, share my story. www.survivingspirit.com/
