We live in Rayong province in Thailand. 5 minutes from our house we did have around 2,000 Long Tail Macaques who are great fun. On the last few months (posting this Feb 2023) roughly 1800 have been relocated as a long tail bit a school kid. There’s three schools local to the area. I understand why they did that.
I feed them a few times a day, usually plain peanuts. They are friendly, not aggressive and healthy looking. They are 100% wild. This isn't a sanctuary or national park.
Anyone that has a primate as a pet is in the wrong. No monkey should be a pet.
