As a part of Lost Cosmonauts I was responsible for animation and layout on a few of the animated segments from the latest Dota 2 documentary 'TRUE SIGHT'!
I assisted on animating some characters, notably Void Spirit, in the Ravage/Earthsplitter clip at 0:00 and was responsible for layout and all major character animation on the NP/Puck/Magnus clip (with the exception of the birds who were done by massive legend @Anomidae ) at 0:22. Hands down this is the hardest ive pushed myself and my limits as of yet so please take a look!
I was also responsible for layout (very basic character movement and detailed camera animation) on the Game 5 Spirit intro and *That* Undying/Bane clip.
This was an incredible project to be a part of and I'm so glad I got the chance to work on this!
Additionally, if you didnt know, I also worked on the Opening Ceremony of the International 10 itself, I was responsible for the TI1 and TI5 (the SIX MILLION DOLLAR ECHO SLAM) scenes at 15:08 and 16:06.

question: since the recent anim tutorial didn't Do So Hot, would you guys mind if I broke the videos down into shorter snippets explaining some of the key takeaways of stuff like body mechanics/anticipation and reaction/timing and posing/holds etc. with examples and explanation of how theyre used? (similar to the loop walk cycle mini-tutorial)
i'm pretty busy atm and doing the next big tutorial isn't really viable, but for those who stopped watching it might be nice to have some shorter-form explanation of important concepts outside of a gigantic 50 minute overedited ramble

Hey, just as a heads up: comments on some of my videos (especially my recent videos) that contain swearing, especially the word 'ass', are being hidden automatically. Youtube says that's because they are being held for review, but I've found that isn't the case. Being Australian, I don't like this in the slightest. I'm looking into it.
also, as a channel update: scripting a new fight. stay tuned.

you ever spent over a year redubbing rethinking and editing hours of utterly useless footage into something slightly competent? cause boy, i sure have.
second part of advanced movement coming in the next week, covering
-body mechanics
-breaking movements into sections
-holds
-anticipation
-timing and retiming
-appeal and exaggeration
-recovery.
hope you've all read that free version of the animators survival kit i gave you (description of the 2nd tutorial). if not, now's the perfect time to get cracking.

the second part of this is gonna require a ridiculous amount of dubbing over for it to even be considered a tutorial so in the meantime here is the first part of advanced movement https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYFTs...

alrighty. Tutorial 3 is recorded and I have 5 hours of footage.
this next tutorial, Advanced Movement, Anticipation and Momentum, is gonna come out to being around 1 hour 30 min/2 hours.
Should I split it into two (Run cycles and momentum control/Body mechanics and recovery) or keep it as one big meaty piece of knowledge?

Hey, figured it's time for an update on stuff.
First off, as I posted on Twitter, I'm extremely excited to announce that I worked on a sequence for Valve's True Sight 2019 documentary!
I animated the 5-man Ravage at 13:45, and reknowned living legends SedimentarySocks and TacoVFX were in charge of lighting and particles, respectively! They absolutely knocked it out of the park and it was such a fantastic experience to be a part of.
Second off, all the reference for tutorial 3 is filmed and ready and I have a free weekend coming up so if I don't have a tutorial uploaded by monday you're legally allowed to kick me in the shins
thank you for your patience, you're all great and thanks for sticking around while I temporarily die once a year!
