I love fully immersive media art, and they have just that at the Blue House Sarangchae Museum. It's called Yeonhwa, and it's inspired by royal night parties in the Joseon Dynasty. They hang hundreds of little lights to mimic fireflies, and lanterns that move up and down. It feels like you're in a magical forest. In the same museum they have a touch wall that features the different tourist attractions around Seoul. And if you go to the second floor, there's a lounge with an amazing view of the Bukhan Mountain. Entrance to the exhibit is completely free, and it's centrally located from all the tourist attractions in Seoul. Yeonhwa will end it's run on December 21st, so make sure to check it out.

BTW, the Blue House was the former residents of the South Korean President, but I guess it's turned into a museum since then. Out of all the times I've been to Korea, I always seem to miss coming here. Well, I'm definitely going to put it on my list on my next trip.

After 40 years of my life, I finally got to see how it feels to live in another country. I had an amazing time, and gave my family a great experience. But after it's all said and done, I still prefer to live in my hometown. #koreatravel #koreatrip #korea

I heard about this a while ago, but Sanrio collaborated with T-Money to make special key rings in various Sanrio characters. Basically, T-money is a pay card that people use for transportation around South Korea. These cards come in a variety of styles. But if you are into novelty, and you love Sanrio, you may want to use the keyring instead. I hear that they sell that at convenience stores around Korea. Hopefully they aren't sold out. It would make a good souvenir.

If you go to Hongdae, you will find a cafe that has sheep. It's called the Thanks Nature Cafe. The place is not a gimmick, the desserts and drink are really good here. We came here the last time we were in Korea, but we had to stop by again to revisit the sheep. I kind of feel sorry for the sheep because they don't get much sunlight, but they look like they take care of them really good. So, I guess they live better lives than most sheep.

The dollar has been around since the American revolution, so I've never experienced a time where the dollar was not the currency. But in Korea, they changed their currency 6 time in the 20th century. Let's just say, it wasn't the end of the world. So even if the dollar collapses within my lifetime, I can be comforted to know that life still goes on. #korea #southkorea #korean

Photobooth Studios are super popular in Korea, but this photobooth studio takes it to the next level. It's called Plan B Sutdio Meta X. There are three themes to the booths. Elevator, Laundry Room and Subway Car. They've actually built out each set to look exactly like what it's supposed to be. They also place the camera in really cool angles. For example, the Camera for the laundry room is inside the Laundry Machine. They even have a prop gun, so you can make it look like you are holding someone hostage in the Elevator. There are so many crazy ideas. Plus, the photos come out very professionally.

The studio is self-service, so it's open 24 hours. You can walk in any time you want and capture really cool memories. I hear these type of photo studios is super popular in Korea, so I can't wait to see other themed booths.

Happy Chuseok! Or in other words, Happy Korean Thanksgiving.

I looked it up and it appears that it is on September 17th this year, but celebrations actually began yesterday and ends tomorrow. That's a full 3 days.

Traditionally, Koreans are supposed to return to their ancestral hometown during this time. They give thanks to their ancestors, and they make a special type of rice cake called Songpyeon. People will also give each other gifts, and surprisingly Spam is one of the most popular items.

I don't remember ever celebrating this growing up, and this is the first year I was even aware of it. But I think I'm going to have to do something special for my family this week. Like take them out to go hiking.

The MBTI personality test is very popular in Korea. It's divided into 16 personality types, but in short, you can either be a 'F' for Feeling or 'T' for Thinking. The 'T' means you are more logical, and 'F' means you are more emotional. So, a funny way to tell someone that they lack empathy is to ask if they are a "T".

But in reality, if you are a normal functioning human, you should have some level of empathy. The lack of empathy means they are a narcissist, sociopath or psychopath. If you do meet someone who doesn't have empathy, run very far away from them.

Since I turned into a sophisticated adult, I've began to enjoy the performances at Theme Parks. The production value is usually professional, and they also make the theme park experience more enjoyable. So, when I heard they were doing a live performance at Legoland Korea, I hate to see it. I've recorded the entire show for your viewing pleasure.

If you go off the beaten path to an Island at Incheon called Yeongheung-do there is a the most unique cat cafe I've ever seen. The place is called Cat Station Cafe, and the owner has designed the place to look like a train station straight out of a studio Ghibli movie. You can pay per hour or for the whole day, and to enter you get a train ticket. You have to enter several doors, but eventually you will be at the cat sanctuary where 100 cats live. The cool thing is that there is an old train car that has been converted into a cafe. And throughout the area there are vending machine where you can grab your own drinks and snacks. But if you want something fresh, they have an area for that too.

If you want to purchase cat treats, you will need to get them out of a capsule toy machine. Everything is very whimsical here. To play with the cat's just sit down on one of the mats, and the kitties will come out to you. There is a dark side to the Cat Station BTW. All of the cats here were either abused or abandoned, and the owner rescued them and created a beautiful environment where they can live for the rest of their days.

And the great part is that these cat's get to live outdoors, instead of being cooped up inside like most cat cafe's. If you are a cat lover, you really need to check this place out. It's really out of the way from the tourist attractions, but I think it will be well worth it.
