Hi and welcome to my off-grid cabin!
I am building a cabin by the lake and living off-grid here. I have built only a small cabin before so I am a new in this but I have liked it a lot. The cabin is by the lake and the cliff in the forest. Its on a little hill so getting all the building material here is quite a job. Cabin is off-grid so I have installed some solar energy systems here. I also like a some bushcraft life style so I try to keep the cabin simple. Northern climate is hard also for cabins so I have tried to do all I can to protect the cabin from moisture and ice.
The cabin is located in southern Finland so at the wintertime the weather can get very cold. Now I have only a stove but I would like to have brick oven that heats the cabin for several hours. I have a plan for building a sauna also. Come and see!
