It turns out at least 20% of the world’s population thinks Christ never died. That large group of people consists of the 1.5 billion Muslims that believe the Qur’an’s teaching. Read Alan Shlemon’s response at rsn.pub/4eeKf1r.

To a Jehovah’s Witness, who has already presupposed unitarianism, these passages can only mean one thing: Jesus is not God. Here are two counter points to think about: rsn.pub/4eUuFcs.

This challenge has nipped at the heels of Christian apologists for ages. To non-Christians, it’s a despicable doctrine. If hearing the name of Jesus is a requirement for salvation, entire cultures would be consigned to perdition, reducing the Almighty to a petty racist. Is that fair? Is it just? Greg Koukl responds, “People will go to hell not because they merely had a theological point wrong, but because they had a real disease (sin) and never got the only effective cure.” Read more at rsn.pub/409p2m5.

When we lose our ability to describe sin, it becomes harder to discern sin in our lives.

Notice Paul's extensive vocabulary for sin in Roman 1.

Paul didn't simply open a Thesaurus and start mindlessly copying. Instead, he was keenly aware of all the ways we break God's moral law.

"They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them" (Roman 1:29-32).

If you're going to cite the Bible, you should probably know what it actually says.

Telling someone to “Stop doubting” is like telling someone to “Stop hyperventilating.” Rather than telling them to stop it, focus on helping them *through* it.

My good friends Greg and Amy answer questions about what constitutes a marriage, at what point God considers a committed relationship to be a marriage, whether the freedom to pursue marriage is a natural right (and what restrictions would be inappropriate), and how to decline an invitation to an unbiblical wedding. Listen now at rsn.pub/4f9TYa8.

It’s more important than ever to know how to respond to tough questions. These questions might come from a knock at your door, but you still need to be prepared. The latest #STRUniversity course from ‪@STRvideos‬, “Engaging Latter-day Saints,” will equip you for just that. Register for free and start learning today at rsn.pub/3LJgd9g.

My fellow apologist, Robby Lashua, shares the history of Mormonism’s founder Joseph Smith, which holy books Latter-day Saints believe are sacred, and key points in Mormon theology. You will also be trained in four witnessing methods to use with your LDS friends, neighbors, and missionaries.

It’s not about needing Hell to be a good person. It’s about needing a good person to avoid Hell.

Here are 3 important Proverbs for engaging in online conversations.

1. “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger”(Proverbs 15:1). In an increasingly polarized culture, it’s easier to be harsh than gentle.

2. “When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, but he who restrains his lips is wise” (Proverbs 10:19). Sometimes it’s better to bite your tongue.

3. “A fool does not delight in understanding, but only in revealing his own mind” (Proverbs 18:2). Many people are more interested in expressing their opinions than seeking understanding.

Can you think of any other proverbs that might be relevant?
