A collection of videos showing the orchids I grow in Southern Mozambique. All orchids are grown outside, I simply don’t have space inside. And to be honest they just grow better outside.
As I prefer to have orchids thriving 🤗 I try to find information to help me care for them. Sometimes it’s not that easy.
That is why I started this channel. So if you in similar environment maybe my mistakes can help you grow yours better!
Mozambique is a Subtropical region, meaning a big temperature difference between summer and winter.
Average Summer temperature is:
Day 30-35 Degrees Celsius
Night 25-30 Degrees Celsius
Average Winter temperature is:
Day 23-29 Degrees Celsius
Night 12-20 Degrees Celsius
We are in a coastal area with around 80% humidity.
Our Rain Season starts in Summer which is October until March.
Winter months it rains around every 10 days. Most my orchids are either mounted on trees or in unglazed clay pots. I am using bark and sometimes sphagnum moss mixed in.
