Red Means Run is a rock n roll band from Philadelphia, PA.
Formed in 2012 and lifting the band name from Neil Young's "Powderfinger", singer/songwriter Ryan Wells crafts songs that run the crooked line between country and rock with lyrics that paint vivid snapshots of people struggling with the enduring themes of love, loss, heartache and redemption. The first two EPs, "All Things Said and Done" (2013) and "Love of Blindness" (2016) earned the band comparisons in sound to early-Wilco and Whiskeytown.
On the new, full length album, "Things You Hold True" (2024), Wells expands beyond his alt-country roots and fully embraces the rock n roll side of the bandâs persona.
Produced by Derek Chafin (BarnSound and a|i|r records) and featuring an array of veterans of the Philly music scene, the new record draws a straight line from Johnny Cash to Tom Petty and Heartbreakers to The Replacements and explores enduring beliefs, relationships and the ties that bind us all.
