I was still in high school when I attended a lecture on drug abuse back in the late 60s. Unfortunately, the lecture was done by a pair of Scientologists who came to our small town to recruit new members. Being young and naive I fell into Scientology and remained in the cult for nearly 40 years. My wife entered Scientology at a similar age and we met while both in.
Our kids were raised in a Scientology environment and ended up joining Scientology's Sea Organization, which is the one where you sign up for a billion years.
Then my wife and I left Scientology, finally learning of its abusive practices, and so according to Scientology dictates our kids were forced to disconnect from us. We've been working ever since to try to contact them and get them out of this abusive cult.
We try to educate others about Scientology's practices to prevent others from joining while continuing to try to reach our children. We haven't seen them in over 10 years. A long time, but we won't give up.
