This Putnam County, NY-based non-profit partners with Camp Wilbur Herrlich in Patterson, NY each summer to teach filmmaking to inner-city youth in a beautiful mountain setting. Most of the films seen below were conceived, written, and performed by children, many of whom had never acted or used a camera before. H. G. Fairfield Arts also sponsors the popular Young Filmmakers Atelier, where middle schoolers learn to express themselves through filmmaking. HGFA's mission is to train vulnerable youth in becoming media CREATORS, rather than just consumers.
