Music and the Brain has a powerful, 25 year old, teacher-tested and validated model for developing children’s cognitive, critical thinking, music literacy, language, math, fine motor skills and social and emotional awareness. Our curriculum approach gives music educators the tools and strategies to stimulate students in the pre-K through 8th grade level, through the study of music notation and a diverse repertoire that students learn to play on keyboards.
We strengthen each young mind through music rather than aiming to turn all students into prolific musicians. We provide ongoing teacher training, curriculum materials and 16 piano/keyboards. Since inception MATB has impacted 475,000+ students in N.Y.C, New Orleans, Ferguson, Miami, Newark, Philadelphia and beyond. The program is taught by public school music teachers with ongoing training and classroom visits provided by Music and the Brain.
