About

By providing opportunities to learn basic technology skills, Community Technology Network seeks to transform lives through digital literacy. We believe access to the internet is a human right, and that those without the skills to use a computer are at risk of social and economic disadvantage.

Without basic digital skills many of our neighbors are unable to search for jobs and housing, finish their school work,or communicate with their healthcare provider, family and friends.

Yet in 2013, a Pew Internet survey found that 44% of people ages 65 and older do not use the internet either because they don't have access to it, don't understand how it is relevant, or lack the skills.

And a 2013 survey by the San Francisco Controller's Office found that 68% of residents with less than a high school education have home internet access compared to 94% of college grads.
