John Ruane is the author of two full length plays and eleven one act plays. One of John's plays "Desperations" had a successful thirteen night run at "Theater for a New City" in New York, Aug 2000. After receiving excellent reviews from the Village Voice, The Irish Voice and the Irish Echo newspapers John is hoping to convince Irish theater companies to stage some of his works. John has also written a book of short stories called "Nine Stories From Aevinom", which is available at Amazon. Although "Nine Stories From Aevinom" is a book of short stories, it also contains nine one act plays as each story is written with over ninety five per cent dialogue. John is happily married to an American girl, Ellen, from New York and they have four children. John hails from the village of Monivea, county Galway, and hopes to provide even more parts for stage actors and actresses throughout Ireland and beyond.
