Hi! My name is Joy Poonpoolpoke and I'm a foodie from NYC with a background in the restaurant business. I grew up learning to appreciate great dishes, restaurants and Thai home cooking.
My parents were born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand and moved to NYC to get married and raise children. My father was the executive chef of a restaurant called Teacher's Too in Manhattan and now owns and runs a Thai restaurant near Atlanta, GA called Baan Thai.
I've had the pleasure to also work in restaurants throughout Boston, NYC and New Jersey before moving to Thailand this year.
I want to share what I find with you. Travel tips, what to look for, the best dishes, bizarre & unusual things too! Sometimes I find luxurious foods, Michelin rated spots and overwhelming beauty. I find off the beaten path experiences too!
