Carlos Montalvo is an Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of South Alabama. He is involved in all types of unmanned aerial vehicle research with a focus on controls of multi-body systems including meta aircraft and coordinated flight. He also has industry experience at Raytheon, Earthly Dynamics and AREAI. His basic research interests include a combination of Dynamic Simulation, Control System Design and Flight Testing all geared to improve the performance of autonomous air vehicles which include fixed wing, rotorcraft, projectile, parafoil vehicles, and multi body systems. These projects are at the intersection of flight dynamics, control and vehicle design.
