Founded in 1826, the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) is an international scientific, conservation and educational charity whose vision is a world where wildlife thrives.
The work of our researchers (based within the Institute of Zoology) and conservationists aims to inspire, inform and empower people to stop wild animals going extinct.
The Institute of Zoology (IoZ) is a world-renowned research centre working at the cutting edge of conservation science. It is funded by Research England, the same body that supports universities, with additional funding for specific projects from the UK research councils and various other academic, corporate, governmental and charitable organizations.
IoZ is affiliated with University College London (UCL), specifically with the UCL Research Department of Genetics, Evolution and Environment.
