Vivek Ramaswamy is an American author and entrepreneur in the biotechnology sector. He is the founder and CEO of the biopharmaceutical company Roivant Sciences. Prior to founding Roivant in 2014, Ramaswamy co-founded a technology company and was a partner at an investment firm. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Yale Law School and has written about the undue influence of corporate power on American democracy.
Ramaswamy graduated from St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati in 2003. He graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College with an A.B. in biology. He then received a J.D. from Yale Law School.
Ramaswamy is married to Apoorva Tewari Ramaswamy, an otolaryngologist. In 2020, after four weeks of maternity leave, she returned to work as a frontline healthcare worker during the COVID-19 pandemic and was infected while treating patients. Apoorva has recovered from the coronavirus.
