The Amason project began as a result of various chance meetings, but it wasnât until the end of 2012 the band got together for real: Amanda Bergman on synthesizer and vocals, Gustav Ejstes on organ, guitar and vocals, Pontus Winnberg on piano, Petter Winnberg on bass and vocals, and Nils Törnqvist on drums.
Their first single, âMarginsâ, was followed soon by a self-titled EP released in August 2013 on INGRID, including the single âWent To Warâ. In 2014, Amason released the Swedish singles âĂ
lenâ [The Eel] and âDuvanâ [The Dove] â and the debut album âSky Cityâ finally came out the following year.
âSky Cityâ was acclaimed by both music fans and critics alike as one of the best albums of 2015. At the Swedish Grammy Awards, the band won Best Album of the Year and was also nominated in the categories Best Artist, Best Pop Song, Best Lyricist and Best Composer.
While working on new music with Amason, the band members have also been involved in various solo and other group projects.
