My purple coneflowers saved my garden this summer! Long story short, I spent the last season adding 40+ rose shrubs and did not plant many annuals (usually I plant some new variety each year). My roses looked spectacular in the spring but are regrouping and just starting new shoots now.
Fortunately, my purple coneflowers were full of blooms and some lovely monarch butterflies! 🦋 I fell in love with them all all over again — then ran to Home Depot to buy all the colorful cultivars :)
Here is my video on how I rediscovered this lovely perennial 😆

Plant lover, garden explorer 🌱 Transforming a century-old lawn into a blooming garden and sharing my journey in cottage garden design.
About me:
A few years ago, we bought a 100-year-old home, and since then I’ve been transforming the front lawn into a garden. I’ve worked on each flower bed on my own, learned a lot, and continue learning every day! I come from a family of devoted gardeners and discovered it’s in my genes too.
I’m also an amateur oil painter (and a marketing executive in my day job). So I approach gardening as if I were painting a work of art—colors and textures are very important to me.
The focus of my channel is garden design, mostly cottage garden style, with a touch of formal garden here and there. I want to share what I’ve learned and spread a love for gardens and the beauty of nature. I also tour botanical gardens with my son and will occasionally include videos from those trips.
