I am a home cook that is making a conscious effort to focus on my health in 2024 counting calories using bits and pieces picked up from everywhere I have lived whether that be Southern cooking from Charleston South Carolina, Pasta & Seafood from Sicily and Japan or Midwest classics from Michigan and Pittsburgh.
I focus on budget cooking, convivence, and ingredients that are available in super markets world wide. This year I am making an effort to count calories so you don't have too! I try to stick to a daily 2000 calorie diet and will focus on that this year.
I believe you can make good food simply without paying an arm and a leg for every single ingredient if you're willing to put a bit of love into it even if it cant always be butter. My calorie counts are based on the labels of the ingredients (if there is on) or the myfitnesspal app from under armor. I try to make my estimates as accurate as possible but will error on the high side.
