Content on incontinence and holistically sustainable continence care, and what it is to study them ethnographically. The channel is hosted by the Pad Project, a research project at Tampere University, Finland, and funded by the Academy of Finland and Kone Foundation. Our research focuses on the ecosystems and political economies of care that emerge around the adult incontinence pad. We aim at developing holistically sustainable continence care, which destigmatises incontinence and emphasises the need of adequate care, cure, rehabilitation, and prevention, as well as equitable access to continence products where needed. The question of waste management and ecological sustainability of continence care is a political question that societies at large must take responsibility to solve.
