I wondered where you were Texas!
100 degrees today felt like 103.
This year has been absolutely a struggle in the garden, but I got lots of new stuff to plant and new garden beds so I’m hopeful. It’s not too late and we get some amazing plants and vegetables this year!

I know I haven’t put many videos up lately, although I’ve got lots filmed, but I’ve been as busy as work will allow me, and there are big things coming!
I’m super excited about these beds!

The harvest before the storm. About 30 pounds of food…
I wouldn’t normally harvest all of this at once, but I’m doing quite a few tests to see what kind of protection I can use to keep certain plants alive through the deep freeze this coming.
I know… Some of you go through this every single year and most of the winter, but here is rare!
I didn’t harvest everything and the rest will be sacrificed to the weather potentially to see what methods work for what kind of plants.
If you’re in South Texas, get ready and stay warm. I’ll see you guys on the other side!

Another snap freeze is on its way!
It was 70°F yesterday tonight light freeze.
So picked the last of the cayenne and some citrus and protected all that I could!
Next week…hard freeze here down to 16°F and stays below 20 for the low for a few days.
I feel bad even saying anything given the blizzards in the North East but…#SouthTexasProblems.

It’s finally fall!!!!
A bit cooler today, it only topped out at 101°F and 70% humidity!
*that was sarcasm.
Cooler temps are finally on the way though and I spent some time thinning seedlings, prepping the garden, and harvesting seeds!
I hope everyone is having a fantastic day!

I’m here to help new & hobby gardeners take their gardens to the next level with tips and tricks that I learned over the years to elevate their gardening game!
Howdy! My name's Doc. I've been gardening off and on since 2006 and after taking a break for the last couple of years, I realized just how much I missed getting my hands dirty! Gardening is one of the most rewarding and frustrating endeavors you'll ever participate in but it is one hundred percent worth every struggle you come up against!
It doesn't matter if you have 20 acres or 20 square feet of concrete, you can garden anywhere! I'm here to help new gardeners get the information they need to get up and running or even maintain what they've already started. Don't get me wrong though, I have a few tricks I've learned myself over the years, and from family, that can benefit just about anyone!
So join me on my journey and I hope we can all help each other along the way!
