We are interdisciplinary eco- & tech-scientists based at the TU Braunschweig, Germany. Our research focus is to improve the understanding of the multifaceted role of vegetation within the water cycle.
We work in different ecosystems – from Costa Rica to the USA, Sweden, Germany & Africa – where we follow the water drop from the atmosphere through soils, groundwater, vegetation and back to the atmosphere.
The „Iso“ in our name stands for the water stable isotopes we use to trace from which water sources trees take up their water. „Drones“ stands for our UAV-borne portfolio of methods and developments as overflights, machine-learning, sampling branches.
Loving science communication, to:

- provide a personal, authentic view of our lives as scientists
