About

As a leader in STEM education, Challenger Center has provided more than 6 million students with experiential education programs that engage them in hands-on learning opportunities. These programs, delivered in Challenger Learning Centers and classrooms, strengthen knowledge in STEM subjects and inspire students to pursue careers in these important fields.

Founded in 1986, Challenger Center was created by the families of the Challenger 51-L crew to honor the seven astronauts of the shuttle flight: Dick Scobee, Gregory Jarvis, Christa McAuliffe, Ronald McNair, Ellison Onizuka, Judith Resnik, and Michael J. Smith.

Challenger Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
