The Betz Institute for innovative orthopedics, based in Diakonie Klinikum Neunkirchen in Saarland, Germany, is well-known and respected worldwide for limb-lengthening with internal systems. It was founded over 15 years ago by biologist Yvonne Betz, MSc., and Prof. Dr. Augustin Betz. In this past decade alone, the institute has successfully performed on average, 150 limb lengthening surgeries every year, utilizing an internal lengthening device which is placed into either the thigh bone or shin bone with minimal invasive precision.
