About

This is the channel for the Leeds University iGEM team. We will be uploading videos about what we're doing throughout the competition, as well as educational content on Synthetic Biology. If you don't know what iGEM is, please visit igem.org/Main_Page or read below:
iGEM is an international competition in Synthetic Biology and genetic engineering. Teams from institutions around the world compete over 10-week periods to develop projects that can be of global use to a huge variety of problems, all while advancing the field of Synthetic Biology. This is all done through the use of BioBricks: standardized, easy-to-use genetic insertions. Think Lego with cells and DNA!
Synthetic Biology isn't just genetic modification however, as the field looks to use mechanisms and processes already found in nature and puts them to novel uses, from methods to clean up toxic soils, to biofuel production or even new forms of electronics.
