In my latest video I break down the useful vocabulary and expressions in an article about the current state of K-pop. Over the past few years, K-pop has skyrocketed in popularity, but now, we’re seeing signs that its growth might be slowing down.
This article explores the decline in K-pop album sales and the challenges the industry is facing, especially after the hiatus of mega groups like BTS and Blackpink. Even if you aren’t a fan of K-pop, you’ll learn crucial advanced vocabulary that will help you understand business and entertainment articles.
📖 Key Vocabulary from the Article 📖
• falter – to become weaker or less steady
• hiatus – a break or pause
• sustain – to maintain something over time
• surge – a sudden and large increase
🧠 Learning English Through News Articles 🧠
Reading articles like this one not only improves your comprehension skills but also introduces new vocabulary and collocations (words that often go together). In our video, we explore essential collocations like:
• face challenges – to confront or deal with problems
• in tandem – at the same time
• significant decline – a noticeable decrease
🤔 After Watching, What Should I Do? 🤔
Practice using the new vocabulary by creating your own sentences in a journal or personal dictionary. You can also follow along with the FREE STUDY GUIDE (see pinned comment) and shadow the video - try matching my pronunciation, intonation, and speaking speed (if you find it’s too fast, slow down the video to 0.75 speed).
Happy Learning!

It’s been a slow few weeks on the channel. I’ve got some longer videos planned, but I haven’t had time to film them just yet. Maybe I was feeling a little guilty about the lack of uploads—so during a couple of lunch breaks, I put together a handful of vocabulary shorts!
Each video introduces a useful vocabulary word, a brief definition, and an example sentence (well, most of them—my first batch skipped the example sentences!).
🧠 How to Use These Videos to Improve Your Vocabulary 🧠
It’s simple! Grab a journal, start a video, and pause it. If the word is new to you, write it down and try creating your own original sentence. If it’s not new to you, well try again or choose another video in the playlist!
As an additional challenge add your own example sentences in the comments section of the video (I respond to nearly everyone... I'm lonely).

Went to a cat cafe with my son during our last day of winter break and met this wizardly-looking cat who asked me about a ring my uncle left me. I guess this means I'll be a little busy so expect my next 'Learn English with an Article' video to be delayed.

Took my bike out for a spin for the first time since straining my quad several weeks ago. Kept it easy—just a ride around town with a quick stop to snap a photo of the main lantern of this year's Nantou City Lantern Festival. The lantern features a snake riding a Dragon Turtle, a legendary creature symbolizing strength, wisdom, protection, longevity, and prosperity.
What legendary creatures are important in your culture?

Have you ever clicked an English learning video and suddenly heard the words: “THIS IS NOT CORRECT”?
The channel English for Everyone with Kevin and Liza has built an entire library pointing out mistakes in English learning content, along the way, they've inspired others (including myself) to comb through YouTube and TikTok finding English learning videos with mistakes. Error correction videos can be valuable teaching tools, but they’ve also sparked debate. Are they truly helpful for learners? Or are they harmful?
In the latest episode of the Speak Outstanding English Video Podcast, I discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly of these videos:
➡️ THE GOOD – Why correction videos can be an excellent way to learn and avoid common mistakes.
➡️ THE BAD – Are they too nitpicky? Do they misrepresent how language corrections should be done?
➡️ THE UGLY – Do these videos contribute to native-speakerism and unfairly target non-native English teachers?
Whether you love or hate these videos, they’ve had a huge impact on English learning content online. But the most important question is—do they actually help learners?
What are your thoughts? Watch the video and let me know your opinions!

According to YouTube, most of my viewers are men, and if you’re anything like me, you probably enjoy maps showing the rise and fall of ancient empires. Sound familiar? If so, you’ll love Drumstick’s channel! He’s a regular in the comments section of my videos and puts great care into his highly informative channel.
