It has been my honor and joy to craft a video for one of my favorite rappers, Homeboy Sandman — presenting “$”, now live on his channel.
Not only was I deeply gratified to work with Sandman — but this song, poeticizing the contortions our culture gets in by reducing everything to the profit motive, and over the Last of the Mohicans music, was extremely close to my heart.
It’s not often that I get to craft visual worlds for other artists — I had certainly never planned to have video editing be so prominent in my arsenal of expression — but when I do, it’s a privilege to visualize poetry as good as this. Hi friends! In response to some of the thoughtful comments that have arisen from my recent Old School School video about redefining Education, I just released this video essay, mulling over some of the paradoxes and possibilities involved in creating educational content for social media platforms.
