โœจ 100,000 Darklings! โœจ

Today, weโ€™ve reached a truly extraordinary milestone: 100,000 subscribers! I can scarcely believe it! To think that so many of you have joined me in unearthing the dark origins of nursery rhymes, fairy tales, and folklore is nothing short of remarkable.

This achievement feels especially poignant, as today would have been my grandmotherโ€™s birthday. She passed away some years ago, but we were extremely close. Iโ€™m quite certain she would have been utterly delighted to see this moment.

As a child, she and my grandfather often had me reading aloud from books, gently correcting my pronunciation and nurturing my love of words and storytelling. Little did any of us know that those hours spent by the fire, turning pages together, would one day lead to this.

This is, in so many ways, her legacy too, and Iโ€™m deeply grateful to each and every one of you for being part of this journey ๐Ÿ–ค

Hereโ€™s to uncovering many more stories together! ๐Ÿ•ฏ๐Ÿ“š Thank you so much for your unwavering support, it means the world.

Yours in darkness and discovery,

L x

P.S. Feel free to share your favourite video so farโ€”Iโ€™d love to know! :)

Greetings, Darklings! ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ‘ป

With Halloween fast approaching, I'm preparing some spine-tingling videos, but I need your help to decide which one to release! All of these stories hold dark mysteries and eerie charm, but which one stirs your haunted hearts the most for this season of shadows? ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธโœจ

Here are the ghoulish options:

- The Worldโ€™s Oldest Ghost Stories: A journey back in time to uncover the first ghost tales ever told. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ‘ป

- Sleepy Hollow Origins: A deep dive into the chilling folklore and real stories behind the Headless Horseman. ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ’€

- The Lost Traditions of Halloween: Discover the strange and forgotten rituals that shaped the Halloween we know today. ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ”ฅ

- Who Killed Cock Robin?: A bizarre nursery rhyme with dark originsโ€”unravelling its hidden, twisted history. โšฐ๏ธ๐Ÿฆ

Which one shall rise from the shadows? Let me know which youโ€™re dying to see! ๐Ÿ’€๐ŸŒ‘๐Ÿ–ค

Greetings, my dearest Darklings ๐ŸŒ™โœจ

I must begin with an apology for my recent silence. I have been unable to respond to your delightful comments, as Iโ€™ve been under the spell of an unwelcome visitorโ€”COVIDโ€”these past three weeks. This has left me feeling rather fatigued and weakened. ๐Ÿ˜ท๐Ÿ’ค However, I am feeling much better and have some thrilling news to share!

A new video shall grace your screens this evening, and I am most eager for you to see it! ๐ŸŽฅโœจ I will also endeavour to catch up on all your wonderful comments over the next few days. Your unwavering support and kind words mean more to me than I can express. ๐Ÿ–ค

I have also been contemplating a new journey for our channel and would love your thoughts! While I shall continue delving into the real-life origins of nursery rhymes and fairy tales ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ“œ, I am considering embarking on a new series exploring the origins of Gothic novelsโ€”such as Frankenstein, Dracula, Jekyll and Hyde, and other masterpieces of the macabre. ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š

This series would unravel the real-life inspirations, the folklore, and the shadowy backgrounds of the authors who penned these dark, brooding stories. Does this idea intrigue you, my curious souls? And if so, which Gothic novels would you most desire to see uncovered and explored in all their eerie glory? ๐Ÿ–ค

Please share your thoughts in the comments belowโ€”I eagerly await your responses. ๐Ÿ‘‡

Once more, thank you for being such a magnificent and supportive community. You are truly the light in the darkness! ๐ŸŒน

With deepest gratitude,

L x

Greetings Darklings,

I wish to extend my sincerest apologies for the delay in releasing our next exploration into the world of dark nursery rhymes, as well as my slowness in responding to your thoughtful comments.

For the past fortnight, I have been rather unwell, afflicted by a dreadful virus that unfortunately robbed me of my voice and left me with a persistent cough. This period of convalescence has been most challenging, but I am now on the mend.

Your unwavering patience and continued support during this time mean the world to me. Rest assured, I am diligently working on our forthcoming adventure, and I am eager to share it with you all very soon.

Thank you for your understanding and kind wishes. Your encouragement is a constant source of inspiration, and I am truly grateful for each and every one of you ๐Ÿ–ค

Yours in darkness and discovery,

L x

๐ŸŽ‰ Thank You for 50k Subscribers! ๐ŸŽ‰

Wow! I can hardly believe it - we've hit 50k darkling subscribers in just 6 months! Thank you all so much for your incredible support. Your likes, comments, and shares mean the world to me, and I'm truly grateful for each and every one of you. ๐Ÿ–ค

As we continue this journey together, I want to make sure I'm creating content that you truly enjoy. While nursery rhyme analysis has been our main focus, I'm eager to know if there are any new topics that you might find interesting. So, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Here are a few ideas I've been considering:

- Crossing over into analysing the origins of fairy tales.

- More exploration into the origins of common sayings and phrases.

- Deep-dives into the history and traditions of different holidays and celebrations like Easter, April Fools' Day, Halloween, etc.

- Delving into mythology and folklore from around the world.

Of course, nursery rhymes will still be a core part of what I do, but what do you think? Are there any topics you'd like to see covered? Or would you prefer we stick to JUST nursery rhymes? Your feedback is invaluable to me, so please share your thoughts in the comments below! :)

Once again, thank you all for your incredible support. Here's to the next 50k subscribers and beyond!

Yours in darkness and discovery,

L x

I've received some inquiries about my choice of having Vlad the Impaler as my profile picture.

Originally, I selected it because I'm fascinated by the darker and more mysterious aspects of history, and I envisioned that as the main focus of this channel. While I still have a keen interest in exploring spooky historical mysteries, I've also found joy in unravelling the origins of nursery rhymes.

With that in mind, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Should I stick with Vlad as my profile picture, or would you suggest a change? If a change is in order, any recommendations on what it should be? Share your thoughts! :)

Greetings Darklings,

I have descended from the shadows to bestow upon you an update from my shadowy realm. I've been toiling relentlessly on my next video, only to find that a sinister affliction has chosen to visitโ€”a malevolent cold, and a throat as raspy as a spectre's whisper. ๐Ÿ˜ท

As a consequence, the release of our next nursery rhyme adventure has been postponed. I extend my apologies for this delay. Be assured, though, I'm on the road to recovery and the unveiling of darkness draws nearer. ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ

While you wait, why not share your shadowy plans for the approaching weekend: Any haunted house explorations, clandestine rituals, or ghostly gatherings on the agenda? ๐ŸŒ•๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿ”ฎ

As for me, I'm hoping to summon the strength to venture out to the cinema to catch "A Haunting in Venice." While I shall forever revere David Suchet as the embodiment of Hercule Poirot, I am equally thrilled that a new generation is poised to be initiated into the chilling world of Agatha Christie. The recent resurgence of murder mystery as a genre fills me with unholy delight! ๐Ÿ’ผ๐Ÿ”ช๐Ÿ•ต๏ธ

May your weekend be filled with cryptic enigmas and conundrums! ๐Ÿ—๏ธ๐ŸŒƒ๐Ÿ–ค
