Hannah - 8 year old with ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder). I will be posting my journey to recovery from this very difficult eating disorder. I have a list of safe foods that I eat, and there are so many foods that I have never tried. Because of my ARFID, I am in danger of needing to be on tube feeding if I don't gain weight and grow the way my body needs. Because of my malnutrition, it causes a lot of physical and emotional problems for me. People with ARFID often have a lot of sensory issues, or have had a traumatic experience with food. I am afraid of trying food that I am not familiar with because I worry that something bad may happen. I get bad migraines because I don't eat enough and my migraines cause me to throw up. I have Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome which means that when I throw up one time, I can't stop throwing up for hours. I have really bad anxiety and am afraid that if I don't like a food it will make me throw up. Please join me on my journey to recovery.
