My channel will most likely remain sparse because I don't feel the need to advertise myself. I have nothing to prove. Sometimes (every year or so) I think something is interesting enough to share...I don't share to gain a false sense of notoriety. Youtube is already littered with countless thousands of people doing that. If I meet you on the street, I'll shake your hand and have a conversation with you.
