Hi and thanks for checking out my channel. I’m Tu David Phu, a San Francisco Chronicle Rising Star Chef, Top Chef alumnus, two-time TEDx speaker, and cookbook author from Oakland. My culinary journey began with nurturing my mother's apartment garden and has taken me to some of the nation’s top restaurant kitchens, ultimately leading to my Emmy-nominated PBS film, 'Bloodline'.
What pulled me back to my roots was the "memory of taste"—the practices, ingredients, techniques, and flavors of Vietnamese cuisine. In these episodes, I share my Vietnamese diasporic experiences as a chef, interwoven with the voices and stories from my food community.
