Jason Gay, born in Wash DC, began performing professionally at the age of 16 touring up and down the east coast with youth dramatic acting and musical group. After attending Berklee college of music and later Graduating from VCU, Jason felt inspired at the election of Barack Obama to join the Navy band. Jason performed with Ravi Coltrane, Nate Smith, Jeremy Pelt, Marion Meadows, Michael Paulo, Renè Marie, Guitar Shorty, Michael Paulo and the Temptations among others.
Since leaving the Navy, Jason performs regularly with his own group, Rose Gold (soulful, smooth and edgy instrumental group) Island Kings (Wedding and Corporate band), Azato (Gospel Reggae), Gypsy808 (Gypsy Jazz), Zodiac Diamond (Soulful Jazzish R&B), SōL Muzik trio, Abe Lagrimas, Amber Ricci and Dragonfly Band, Maggie Herron, Royal Hawaiian Band, Ian Wacksman Quartet, Frugal McDugal, Overcrowded Avenue, Funktiphiles, Ginai, Bentos, Mike Lewis bigband, and Mango Season.
