Our identical sons, Asher and Eli, were born on August 31st, 2011 at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Immediately after their birth, they could not breath on their own and were intubated. They were then both sent to McMaster Children's Hospital in Hamilton. After months of ventilation and surgeries to fix inactive diaphragm muscles, they had tracheostomy tube put in. We finally moved home on April 11th, 2012 and are getting used to life with trachs. Hopefully this will not be a life-long issue. We pray that their lungs will grow and strengthen over the next months and years.
