Some tips and methods I use for FM DXing:
Frequency and PI code if signal is strong and capable decode RDS. PI code is the first thing decoder detects. Then program can be identified with its frequency even if PS (Program Service) can't be received. Usually same station around country uses different frequencies, but sometimes it happens that it works on the same frequency in two locations. Then transmitter power must be incorporated. Big difference between for example 60kW power and 10kW. Then distance to my location. Antenna directivity. If you're in doubt between two towers there's this method: you need to check other station frequencies from the transmitter you're not sure. Usually other stations also comes on those frequencies from listed ones transmitter is transmitting.
