Hello my dear friends! I want to highlight the tie to the Native Hawaiian community that I made in today's video. Today marks the one year anniversary of the devastating Lahaina wildfires. Similar to the themes of colonialism and cultural extraction within Babel, the displacement of Native Hawaiian people, degradation of native lands, and cultural exploitation wreak havoc on our communities today. Hi my internet friends~
This morning I sat down and started listening to Hana Vu's album, Romanticism, and wrote in my journal: Look alive. Be prepared. Something great is coming. I am returning to my bones, returning to my breath, returning to my spirit. I am ready to create and ready to connect. How powerful it is to be able to capture, record, and translate my experiences to others. How beautiful it is to say, "this is how it feels for me, does it feel this way to you?".
I wrote an artist statement yesterday that will serve as my north star when I create.
My exploration is my art form through which I am attempting to collapse the distance between my experience of the world and that of another person's.

I just watched this video by Jules Terpak about the Apple Vision Pro and I feel like it really spoke to the optimistic skepticism I have with new tech. I have a lot of anxieties around how our digital worlds and physical worlds will collide, and how that will change the way we interact with each other, our communities, and our environment. Although I do think the collision of digital and physical is inevitable, I think it's important for us to remain skeptical and ensure that new technology is serving us instead of us serving technology.
