For those of you waiting for more Makers of the Modern World videos, there are quite a few more coming. In these next videos, I'll be focusing on the move away from the scholastic realist theology/philosophy (including issues of natural law, faith and reason, the relation between theology and philosophy, etc.) of the post-Reformation era toward rationalism, voluntarism, and nominalism. Some of these will feature individuals you have likely never heard of (some of whom have virtually nothing translated into English), but are an essential element of the move away from classical thought. First up is Leibniz.
