Founded in 1979, the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra (KSO) has become in recent years one of the most interesting cultural actors in its сountry.
KSO frequently performs in Europe's most important venues, such as the Berliner Philharmonie, Elbphilharmonie, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Munich's Isar Philharmonic, Cité de la Musique in Paris, Warsaw Philharmonic, and at prestigious international festivals. The orchestra had an honour of performing in front of NATO leaders at the Madrid Summit on 29 June 2022.
KSO devotes special attention to the preservation and promotion of Ukrainian musical treasures, always underlining in its interpretations their deep belonging to the European tradition. The orchestra's mission is to give a Voice to the Ukrainian Musical Treasures in Dialogue with the great European Repertoire.
Since 2023, KSO has has been under the official patronage of the Berliner Philharmoniker.
