This Channel explore the important role of the singer and songwriter Mohamed Wardi (1932-2012). With focus upon the traditional musical instrument known as the kisir in the Nile Nubian languages and as the tambour in colloquial Sudanese Arabic. The channel is part of study by Sudanese Ethnomusicologist Ahmed Abdul Rahman to evaluates the role of Wardi’s music in the development of the Kisir in Nubian music and in the urban music of Sudan.
