Greetings to Rasikas. We are celebrating our father Sri N Ramakrishnan’s 80th birthday falling on Thursday 12th August 2021, with a concert by Palakkad Sri Ramprasad. He will be accompanied by Vidwans Nagai Sriram, NC Bharadwaj and KV Gopalakrishnan on the violin, mridangam ans Kanjira respectively.
My father hails from Tiruvilvamala, the same temple town from which the legend Palakkad Sri Mani Iyer hails. The choice of PRP to perform on this occasion was as much to his Vidwath and equally to our family’s respect to the great Sri Mani Iyer.
While we would have loved to invite Chennai Rasikas over to Arkay Convention Center for a live listen, the present situation and needed adherence to protocols preclude that. We request Rasikas to join us online, enjoy PRP + team’s music and extend your best wishes to my father.
Thanks and kind regards,
R. Narayan Kumar

Namaskarams to my Rasikas friends. With the ebbing of the 2nd wave, I trust and pray that we get back to a semblance of normal life over the next few weeks and months. My prayers and best wishes to everyone who has suffered through this pandemic. In the middle of this period of suffering, music continues to be the best healer.
To align the channel's description and narrative to what it seeks to serve best, I have renamed this channel as "Suswara Lahari" (waves of soothing music) and provided it with a suitable image, effective today. While this re-branding will not change the focus or content in any manner, it seeks to bring in additional clarity about the channel's intent.
I trust this change will be well received and Rasikas will continue to soak in the carefully curated content. Thanks for your continued support and patronage. Ram Ram

Greetings to my Rasika friends. My prayers and good wishes for all of us to tide over these difficult times. Music is of course the best healer and I hope you are continuing to enjoy the various carefully curated uploads in my channel.
I received a mail last night from YouTube, the key aspect of which is reproduced here, “YouTube’s right to monetize: YouTube has the right to monetize all content on the platform and ads may appear on videos from channels not in the YouTube Partner Program.”
As I have already informed, I am not a part of this Partner program nor do I intend to enter into it anytime now or later. This has ensured that most of the content in my channel has been ad free and doesn’t have the irritating set of ads before, during and after the krithis play. In cases where imaginary copyright violations have been imposed, I have contested these and got them overturned, of course lost a few as well.
However, it appears that uploaders like me do not have any more control over monetisation and it’s entirely the corporate greed of Google that will decide on how they want to use the content for their own financial gratification.
I wanted to give a prior heads-up about this impending development which kicks in from 1st June. I will continue doing my best in terms of future uploads. With prayers and best wishes for your continued good health and prosperity. Ram Ram

Hello dear Rasikas,
A simple request. I have no desire to upload copyrighted material in my channel. With the lockdown and concerts going virtual, most artistes have started their respective YT channels and commenced actively monetizing their content. This is laudable and welcome.
When I started my uploads about 4 years back, my intent was to be very choosy and particular in choosing rare krithis and good renditions of popular ones to upload. With more and more uploaders choosing to monetise (irrespective of whether they have the copyrights or not), I have become even more choosy and careful with my uploads.
In the event any artiste believes that my uploads of their performance is hampering their ability to monetise, please send me a mail at narayankumar2004@gmail.com. I will happily delete the video (s).
Happy listening and kind regards,
Narayan
