As the Founder and President of the Lumbini World Peace Forum since 2015, Basu Gautam has been a promoter of peace and social justice through creativity, the arts, innovation, cross-cultural dialogue, and sustainability. He has visited 35 countries and 73 out of the 77 districts of Nepal as part of his work and professional activities.
Basu Gautam is also a professional trainer on topics such as innovation and creativity in education, the impacts of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on developing nations, climate change and the green economy, cultural diplomacy, emotional intelligence, and communication skills. He also contributes columns to Nepalese publications, such as Annapurna Post, The Kathmandu Post, Annapurna Express, and Republica, as well as various online blog portals. Since 2019, Gautam has also led the 1 Million Tree Plantation Drive Campaign in Nepal, which engages communities in climate change adaptation and environmental awareness.
