For those of you wanting to get into the Ant Keeping hobby with me, here's a video creating a basic ant farm set up for one of my ant colonies. Trust me on this: ant keeping is such a FUN hobby, and there's nothing quite as gratifying as growing an ant colony from just a pregnant queen ant. Fellow ant keepers, am I right?
For all of you who managed to catch queen ants this summer, congrats! If you haven't yet, don't worry! You still have over a month or so to find your pregnant queen ant! I feel such incredible gratitude we reached this 6M milestone because I never imagined, when I first started the channel back in 2009, that others would identify with the true biological stories of the micro creatures living at our feet. I feel honoured to have narrated their mind blowing tales of love, war, struggle, and victory, stories that mirror our own lives and show us that we aren't so different from all other animals that share our planet. Ant love forever!
NOTE: I have something huge planned for the big 6 Million Subs video (see 2nd slide for a clue), so the episode may or not be late or may just be uploaded next weekend. So sorry, guys, but I promise it will be worth the wait! It's extra long and packed with ant action! I'll keep you guys updated.

I'm still struggling to decide which of the following PREDATORS to add next into my Giant Canopy Vivarium. Please READ BELOW before voting:
🐜 Massive Weaver Ant Colony: These are a ravenous, aggressive, and hungry ant colonies that are apex predators in the ant world. They will claim a plant as their own and won't let any creature near it. ACTIVE 24HRS.
🐍 Green Tree Python: My 10 yr old male green tree python is full grown (1.5 m long) and only eats mice, every 3 weeks, so I would need to add mice periodically. He also has always been a captive-born pet so he knows nothing about life in a rainforest and will be vulnerable to dangers/parasites. ONLY ACTIVE AT NIGHT.
🐁 Microsquirrel: These tiny rodents eat a lot of insects and may eat every insect in the vivarium. It will also need to be supplemented with grains, fruit, and nuts. They apparently don't destroy decorations but can chew through many materials. ONLY ACTIVE AT NIGHT.
🦎 Panther Chameleon: Very sensitive reptile lizard that must be kept solo (except for brief period when breeding) and may or may not adapt well to life in our cloud rainforest. They eat a lot of insects. ONLY ACTIVE BY DAY.
