Bees Abroad is a UK-based NGO (charity), our team a global community of volunteers working to relieve poverty through beekeeping. Beekeeping is a sustainable and ecologically friendly way to change the lives of the world’s most disadvantaged people. We exclusively use locally sourced materials to make beehives and protective clothing. There are no gender or age barriers; our projects involve women, young people, those with disabilities and schools. The honey produced provides a source of nutrition to households and increases income by around 20%.
Our in-country partners are also all passionate about their work making real change to the lives of others using their skills. So our videos will not be perfect, some are produced in the field often using basic smartphones, but they come from the heart.
