A channel documenting an interesting period of modern European cultural history. The Czech Underground art/music scene, inspired by artists such as The Velvet Underground, Frank Zappa etc. unintentionally played an important role in the Czechoslovak fight for freedom under communist rule. Their opression by the regime was one of the main reasons why Václav Havel became the leader of the opposition and led the nation to the "Velvet Revolution", named after its peaceful ending and also after the band The Velvet Underground. After the revolution, Václav Havel and the leading band of the underground scene, The Plastic People of the Universe, became friends with Lou Reed, Frank Zappa etc.
