All life is related.
Judging anyone based on the things they cannot control such as their race, gender, age, disabilities, or sexual preference is archaic and ignorant.
Judging anyone based on the things they can control such as their beliefs or behavior (westboro baptist church, aryan nations, Islamic extremists, blocking prosecution of child molestation by priests, forced marriage of underage girls in polygamous sects) is important so that we might bring about change by holding those responsible for their abuse.
Beliefs stated as fact, without evidence to back them up, is dishonest. If we want our beliefs to reflect reality, we must account for bias and correct errors. Religious thinking fails miserably at this because it openly exploits our natural bias and discourages skepticism.
You cannot make the world a better place through ignorance, bias, and superstition. Our lives are collectively better off when we form decisions on ideas that are externally valid.
