Are you tired of people calling you deformed at bars? I know I am!! Here's the adventure of finding pride in congenital limb differences through my work as an Occupational Therapist, Flight Attendant, Aerial Artist, and Podcast Co-Host!!
Disability is a word that is often associated with a lot of stigma, why? From 1867-1974 some cities had "Ugly Laws" which made it illegal for "any person, who is diseased, maimed, mutilated or deformed in any way, so as to be an unsightly or disgusting object, to expose himself or herself to public view." Ouch!
So here we go! Lets own our narratives, eradicate the stigmas and find pride in who we are!! In this channel we will adventure together exploring disability related themes and concepts, and topics completely unrelated to disability. Here we can find links to resources and community, to help kids, parents, teens, and adults discover whole new ways of living life beyond stigmas.
Guess what?! Disability exists, and it rocks!!
