Reification is the process of transforming an abstract thought into a material object. I find a sense of peace and calm in the creation of something like a Lego set, where the idea of thing that does not yet exist is assembled. I do not have to worry about the perceived perfection or fault in the design. The only goal is to build. All other thoughts disappear as the mind focuses on the construction.
Similarly, the disassembly of a created object to reduce it to its component parts frees the physical construct from the form imposed upon it. Deconstructing a build is not an act of aggression or something to lament, but rather an opportunity to let go of physical attachment and recognize the potential for rebirth.
