Located 1,134 feet above sea level on the southern slope of Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park, Griffith Observatory is one of southern California's most popular attractions. The mission of Griffith Observatory is to inspire everyone to observe, ponder, and understand the sky. The Observatory is owned and operated as a public service by the City of Los Angeles, Department of Recreation and Parks.
All Space Considered is a monthly program that provides insight into the latest, most talked-about stories in astronomy and space exploration. The programs are held on the first Friday of every month in the Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon at Griffith Observatory, and are free to the public.
