About
Sanatkada Film Studio was founded by our team of Aisha Khatoon and Saira Khan. We are from a marginalized community which had limited resources and poor access to education. Still, with the help of local NGO Sadhbavana Trust, we fought restrictive cultural norms to learn photography, filmmaking, and video editing as mediums through which we could explore issues related to gender, identity, and social justice. Over the past nine years, we have worked with Sadhbavana Trust, Sanatkada, and other organizations across Lucknow, UP and India on a wide range of projects including: developing short documentaries on a range of issues including the RTI Act, the stories of women community leaders, and Lucknow’s cultural heritage; covering social sector events and workshops; cultural performances.
Now, we are taking our services to the general public as an independent enterprise.
